THEY ARE LYING TO YOU . HERE IS THE TRUTH:
WATER COMING IN: 4,500 Acre Feet per year.
WATER BEING PUMPED OUT: 42,000 Acre Feet per year .They are pumping out NEARLY 10 TIMES what the basin gets back.THE RESULT?
Groundwater levels dropped OVER 200 FEET since the 1980.The land is SINKING . It already dropped 10 to 15 INCHES in many places.Your home, roads, your entire town... all sinking because foriegn mega-farms are "dewatering the aquifer" .
This is not an accident. This is a plan. And its being run by people who do not care about you.They want you to believe this is just a "drought." They want you to fight with your neighbors .
But the real enemy isn't neighbors. Its the global elite who see OUR homes as their personal, unregulated piggy bank.

Arizona has created a "free for all".
Because we are not a protected groundwater management area like big cities like Phoenix and Tucson, these foreign corporations can come in, drill wells, and pump UNLIMITED amounts of our water.
They don't have to report it. They don't have to conserve it. They just take it.
WHAT ARE THEY DOING W/ YOUR WATER?
They are pumping -our- ancient groundwater, for free, to grow alfalfa.Then they ship that hay OVERSEAS to feed their cattle in the Middle East.
Let that sink in.YOUR well is going dry...

... so the SAUDI ROYAL FAMILY can feed their cattle on the other side of the world.
A local RV Park owner, Robert McDermott, had to drill a new 800-foot well that cost him over $100,000 ! He said it himself: "Money is not an object to the Saudi's . It's the fact that our water system out here is unregulated, and that's what they go after".
They are draining us dry and they think their money means they can have their way with our water and our own futures.
This isn't some far-off problem for 50 years from now. It is happening RIGHT NOW.
THE LAND IS SINKING
It's Land Subsidence. And it's terrifying.
When they pump massive amounts of water from the aquifer, the land collapses.
• ADWR's own data shows the land has sunk up to 15.7 INCHES since 2010.
• This subsidence is NON-RECOVERABLE. The storage capacity is gone forever.
•• It's destroying our property. It’s cracking foundations. It's damaging roads, highways, and critical infrastructure.
• DeVona Saiter, a resident in nearby Wenden, has seen the floor of her small business SINK from the pumping.
WELLS ARE GOING DRY. FAMILIES ARE LEAVING.
This is the reality they don't want to talk about.
• In Vicksburg, Rodney Hayes and Nancy Blevins had their well go "COMPLETELY DRY" after the large-scale pumping started.
• Tom and Illene Wood and their daughter's family... – both of their households have had wells go dry.
• Carroll Eugene Miles Sr. said : "We went into our kitchen area and turned on the water and there was no water... We've got to stop all this nonsense, because we're trying to build this area up, and we can't do it if we don't have any water"
• People are being forced to RELOCATE and abandon their homes.
••FAMILY FARMS ARE BEING CRUSHED••
The corporate, foreign-owned, industrial mega-farms are destroying the local farmer.This isn't about all farming. This is about predatory farming.
Our local, generational family farms CANNOT compete with a foreign government that has unlimited money.
Fondomonte and the other mega-farms can drill deeper wells, pump more water, and run our local farmers right out of business, leaving them with dry land and no future.

This is a scare tactic. The new requirements for reporting and conservation will ONLY apply to the large-scale wells (pumping 35 gallons/minute or more). This regulation is designed to control the MEGA-FARMS, not you. It protects your small well from them.

LIE #2: "This will hurt family farms in the area!"
THE TRUTH:
This is the opposite of the truth. An ama SAVES family farms. It stops the aquifer from going dry and STOPS the mega-farms from having an unlimited advantage. This gives local farmers a chance to survive.

THE TRUTH:
What destroys an economy? NO WATER! What destroys home values? SINKING LAND and DRY WELLS . Water management is the only way to secure our long-term economic future, our homes, and our businesses.

We have ONE chance to fix this. The AZ Department of water resources (ADWR) is finally reviewing the Ranegras Plain for an Active Management Area (AMA) or an Irrigation non-expansion Area (INA).
This is our only tool. An AMA will:
1. CLOSE the basin to new large-scale pumping.
2. REQUIRE reporting from the mega-pumpers.
3. EMPOWER our local community to finally manage and conserve our own water.
We have to make our voices heard. They are counting on your silence.
